2016 was a year of challenge: I left a full time job, started new job(s), learned about the pros and cons of freelancing, and allowed myself to focus more intently on my art. I have never been one for change or disruption - I like my routine and structure. But as I have branched out more in the last year, I can honestly say I am excited for the changes that are to come. As I look into the start of a new year, I feel optimistic about new adventures, even if I have no clue what they may be!
While I'm not big on resolutions, I sure do enjoy goals. Going into 2017, I have some practical (boring) goals... drink more water, try to curb my sugar addiction, go to bed at a reasonable hour, blah blah blah. The goals I am really jazzed about are the ones that will continue to push me out of my comfort zones. So, without further ado, here are my 2017 things-I-aspire-to-continue-working-on-but-won't-beat-myself-up-about-if-I-don't-get-it-exactly-right:
- Continue nurturing my creative style
- Take more naps and not feel guilty about it
- Sketch more and be okay when it looks like shit
- Make time for meditation and journaling. I received this amazing journal for creatives as a gift and would like to make the most if it!
That's it! I find I'm more likely to stick to things when the list isn't too long 😉
Here's to a new year of soaking up goodness and passing it along to others. 💛
